Setting Facing south, it is just 500 metres outside the unspoilt village of Lagnes and is a true haven of peace and quiet. During World War II, the cottage was used as a base by the local French Resistance group, known as the 'maquis du chat'. Lagnes, situated 5 km from L'Isles sur le Sorgue and 20 km tot the east of Avignon, is still a true 'working village', which tourism has as yet largely passed by. There are no tourist souvenir shops but just the essentials, one restaurant, a good baker, a grocer, a chemist, a hairdresser and, of course, a café. Ideally situated to explore the famous Luberon region with its medieval perched villages.
